How to bring the knowledge about building flowcharts to children of age 10 - 12 years? Simple - by playing it! The children of IMC Basis in Tilburg were the players during the guest lecture "Flowcharts in Action" in December 2020.
The young explorers were introduced to the basics of flowcharts as a type of algorithms helping to do faster programming. By getting engaged into a real-life task - turn a robot into a friendly host - the children became the creative thinkers and doers of one joint giant flowchart. Nice to see that although flowcharts are an abstract concept, children could grasp and apply the basics.
Special thanks to Sandrine van der Perk - a coordinator at IMC Basis - for the invitation and organization of the guest lecture. It was a great pleasure to interact with the children!
