Thinking about and for computers can be fun and insightful, no matter distance and age.
Our interactive activity with children 8 - 12 years at the Mensa Nederland Volunteer Event was the evidence for that.
Special thanks to the participating enthusiastic children with whom we discussed what computers are, played algorithms while dancing, build flowcharts which we then turned into a real "Make-me-happy" app. The reactions of the children show that making the computing thinking process explicit can be as enjoyable and valuable for them as doing right away programming.
Many thanks to Carina Nieuwenweg and Charlotte Hoyng from Mensa Nederland for the invitation to do the activity.
